NEWS: Traditional and Classical Architecture and Urbanism
The Institute for Traditional Architecture (ITA) has joined the Institute of Classical Architecture & Classical America (ICA & CA).* See http://www.classicist.org/ and http://TraditionalArchitecture.org/ica+capress.html/.
The Mission Statement for the ITA said, "The purpose of the Institute for Traditional Architecture is to revive the design, teaching, and construction of traditional architecture and urbanism for the 21st Century. The essence of traditional architecture and urbanism is the making of useful, durable and beautiful buildings, streets, squares, neighborhoods, towns and cities." The ITA will simultaneously bring to the ICA&CA both more Traditional and New Urban architects from across the county and the mission to improve New Urban design. All will benefit from being "under one big tent."
* The rumor that the new group will be called The Institute for Traditional, Indigenous and Classical Architecture & Classical America – TITICACA – is false.
