I finally figured out how to use the "categories" to easily find stories from both this month and the archive. Just scroll down in the left sidebar to the list of categories: click on one and it will call up every post in that category.

(Typepad has great software, but the help section and the "user interface" leave something to be desired for the person making the blog. Who would think you would look under "archiving" to do that instead of "categories" right next to it? And try to find instructions for that in the three uncoordinated help sections! Funny, because what you see on the web is so easy to use. The best blog software, I think.)
