Bubbamania in New York!
Bubba Crosby was one of the minor leaguers Los Angeles traded for Robin Ventura last year. One for twelve as a Dodger, he hit a home run in his first at bat as a Yankee and in Yankee Stadium.
Yesterday he had his first start as a Yankee, and in the field and at bat he was the reason the stumbling Yankees won the game. His second career homer was a three-run home run that tied the game at 4 (in another bad start by Mussina), and gave Crosby a slugging percentage of 1.600 in 2004.
He's 2 for 5 (.400) and a hero in New York, a minimum salary player on the Big Bad Yankees.

My 8 y/o stepson and I are HUGE Yankees fans out here in Portland. He totally has Bubbamania, mainly because of the name. We're coming out to NYC in May to catch two Yankees/Mariners games in celebration of his birthday. Hope Bubba's still with the team by then!

Today's Times reveals that Torre wanted to start Bubba last night, but decided not to against the lefthanded starter. Lofton is supposed to play Friday, and Lee may be ready to return this weekend, so where will this all leave Bubba?
