THOR — Life's A Blog
Update 11/20
love Modern boutique hotels, so we decided to vacation at home at the new THOR (The Hotel On Rivington), the Lower East Side hotel that's one of the hottest places in the blogosphere (look here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here and here — and those were just the ones I found in a minute or so).The hotel's under construction, with only half the floors open, and the lobby unheated when it's 38 degrees outside. The WiFi is broken, the DSL cables are all out, and I'm writing this on whatever WiFi floats by the eleventh floor. But we like the room, which is probably the one in the picture above. The shower has wall-to-wall, floor-to-ceiling windows, the tub is great, and the view is great — especially from the balcony. Expect more details

It's fun to see the photos from the outside. I walked by late one night and found the ground floor to be uninviting. But it looks cozy on the inside (in the rooms that are built, anyway!)
