Would you hire this man to design your city?

PatakiWell, he's designing 9 square blocks of Manhattan, and he's doing a lousy job. Long after people forget who Governor Pataki was, we will still have the Ground Zero site and its buildings, and they'll still be bad.

Churchill anecdote:

Lady Astor, who often battled with Winston Churchill, once said to him at a dinner, "Winston, you're drunk."

Churchill famously replied, "Yes, and you're ugly. But in the morning I shall be sober."

The work we do in cities lives on long after we are dead. Urban design is not a job for politicians with bad taste.
