It's misleading to teach that buildings which do not work are "courageous", because that idea suggests that good buildings are synonymous with complacency and passivity, and it also stigmatizes their existence. Indeed, what budding young architect would ever want to be known by others as passive or complacent? In turn, architects will happily pollute cities with buildings that alienate passer-bys for the sake of "courage".
If a designer was truly courageous today, they might design a Greek temple. All these other "courageous" projects are actually acts of complacency because they are now totally encouraged (and even insisted upon) by the mainstream architecture community.
